A Much Needed Update...Halloween!

Hello! I'm sorry I haven't been online lately, because it's hard to get good internet service where I live (also known as the middle of nowhere!) I realized you all never got to see my Halloween costume. Hippies won, so here it is! My totally 70's ware!:

Sorry it's not the best picture, but everyone was chomping at the bit to leave, especially Casper! (he he, see what I did there? for those of you who don't know, Casper is my horse :D)

Here's my cute PUMPKIN!!! I was really sad when my dad told me it was time to get rid of him :( It's OK though, he got fuzzy stuff all over him, and he didn't smell to good, either.
I got lots of candy and treats! I know it's kinda late to be asking, but what did you go as? I hope you had a safe, fun, and happy Halloween! Also a good Thanksgiving. I have to help make Christmas cookies now, and decorate the tree, and don't worry I 'll post about it later (but not too late...) Also, for the Christmas season, I decided to change the background on my blog to a happy snowflake theme!! Bye! :D

Autumn Activities

Wow, time flies when you're having fun (and doing homework...) It's already the middle of October!! I'm so excited, because this is my favorite time of year...well, second time of year. Nothing beats no school, swimming, and ice cream!!

I love the colors the farm turns around Fall. I just got back from my october ride. My family and I go on a weekend long horseback riding trip every fall. It's a bunch of fun, and the colors in the woods are so beautiful!

We stopped at a cider mill during our ride. Fresh, Warm doughnuts are the best! Isn't this picture so pretty?
I thought this wheel was pretty cool!
Today I went outside to play in the leaves! Raking them into a pile was hard work, but it's well worth it!
Scout wanted to join in, too. He loves hiding in the leaves and jumping out like a scary monster!
 BOO!
Scout was getting cold, so I lent him my hat, mittens, and scarf. I think he looks silly!!
At the cider mill, they were selling pumpkins, and my parents let me buy one! I think it's really cute.
Scout had to inspect it before it could come inside.
When I went inside, I decided to continue reading about the American Girl, Josefina. She's my favorite. I think I want to be her for Halloween, but also want to be a hippie...What do you think? I started a poll, so go vote!
I can't wait for Halloween!! Can you?

Happy Labor Day!!

Well, it's September, and that means summer is out, and school is in. I thought I would show you all some pictures of my fun summer adventures as a fond goodbye to summer.
Here we are ready for some campfire fun!! from left to right: Sonny, Mel, Gabby, Me, Dakota and Tess.

The only thing I love more than a hot toasty marshmallow is...
 ...a hot toasty (messy) S'more!!!
 Showing some camp spirit
Here's a close-up of the flag we made. Everyone signed it!
For arts and crafts we had fun with pine cones. We painted them to decorate our cabin.
Here's a close up of our colorful pine cones (mine is the far left!)
We also made bird feeders out of pine cones by spreading them with peanut butter and rolling in bird seed. Mel, Tess and I went outside and hung them while the other girls cleaned up.
A group photo. Sonny volunteered to take the pic.
I can't wait til next year!!

Titan!

Hello,
Sorry that I kinda disappeared for awhile. I've been very busy at summer camp, the beach, and cleaning stalls (Ick!) but I promise I'll post some pictures of all the fun I've been having very soon.

Also, a follow up on my last post:
I picked the name Titan!! Thanks to everyone who suggested names, I loved them all, but he told me he just loves Titan because it sounds tough (he's quite funny!) Sorry again!

Meet My Pets!

Today I was enjoying the summer weather outside...
...When I decided it was time for you to meet my pets!
This is Scout. He is really sweet, and super fun to play with! He also loves playing fetch!
Here is Praline. He doesn’t do much, but like I said, he loves to cuddle with me.
This is Lola the goat. She's so sweet! I used to be scared of her, but I learned that she really is a sweetie pie!
Here is my chick, Moe! She is really shy, but she loves to run around! It was hard to get her to sit still for the picture, but once she got tired, It was easy.
Meet Casper, my wonderful horse! We've been together since I was little. Since then, we've come to be best buds!
And now for my newest pet...
A bunny! I've always wanted a pet bunny. We got him from a good friend of mine. She had a whole bunch of bunnies, but couldn't take care of them all, so we got one! I'm having a hard time naming him, so what do you think? I'm thinking Titan or Lucky, but I'm not sure. If you have a suggestion, leave a comment.
Here's a group photo of me, Scout, Praline, Lola, Moe, Casper and the new bunny!
Bonus pic! Don't forget to tell me your best bunny names!

Welcome to my blog!!!

Hello! My name is Penelope Mae Parker, but I go by Nellie. I am 9 years old. I live on a farm out in the countryside of Michigan with my parents, horse, chickens, goat, dog, and cat. I love the all colors of the rainbow, but my favorites are blue, green, and yellow. My favorite foods are raspberry iced tea, pizza, and reese cups. In my spare time I love to play soccer, draw, read, splash in rain puddles, and cuddle with Praline (my cat). I hope you enjoy my blog!
Here's a picture of me:
